You can argue as much as you want about what is Bob Dylan’s finest moment to date – Blood on the Tracks, switching his band to electric in 1965, his performance at Carnegie Hall at the age of 22 – but you would be wrong. It was obviously his turn as Alias in Pat Garrett Billy the Kid, which featured his heartbreaking Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door during one of the film’s finest scenes.

But don’t despair while you choke on your croissant over that particular Blonde on Blonde bombshell, washed down with the molten rage that you don’t have a ticket for one of Bob’s gigs this week in Dublin’s O2, for help is at hand. Gallery Number One (1 Castle Street, Dublin 2) has an exhibition of the work of Ken Regan, who spent many a year on the road with Dylan. The show brings together photographs of Dylan in the company of the great and the good of rock’n’roll, including the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Joan Baez.
