WHAT KIND OF SHOPPER ARE YOU?
I’m very much a high street shopper. Budget considerations mean I can’t always get the more expensive things I want, so I find alternatives on the high street.
WHERE DO YOU FIND THOSE ALTERNATIVES?Topshop is always great, Asos is good online, and I go to Kildare Village, the outlet centre.
YOU OBVIOUSLY SHOP A LOTAll the time. I'm in the shops at least once a week, sometimes only to grab something small. I go for accessories to freshen up an outfit. For work I could wear a simple black dress, but with a headband with bows or coloured tights to give it a new look.
DO YOU LIKE COLOUR?I wear a lot of black during the week to work, but at weekends I generally get into colour. My favourite colour is pink, but I am doing fluorescent for summer.
DO YOU LIKE TO EXPERIMENT?Yes, always, but as I have grown older my experiments have started to work better as I've defined my style. I've never been afraid of trying new things, but always adding my own little style details.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE?It's quite trend-focused, but with my own twist. I wouldn't dress in trends head to toe, but I tend to go for something really nice such as a fabulous pair of Louboutin shoes and then team them with a Topshop dress – it's mix and match.
WHAT’S THE MOST YOU’VE EVER SPENT?
Last summer, I spent €800 on a Missoni maxi dress. It’s a white floral print with pink beading and a black halterneck, which I made into a one-shoulder. I wore it to a summer wedding and then to a charity ball so it went from summer to winter, changed with accessories to suit the season. I love it.
WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCES YOUR STYLE?
I read every magazine I can find every month. Grazia is my weekly fix, and a big influence. My younger sister and I are similar in size and have the same taste and we dip in and out of each other’s wardrobes.
WHAT ABOUT SHOES?Normally I am in flats, but I keep my heels under the desk at work.
DO YOU HAVE FAVOURITE ITEMS?I have a bracelet with a collection of charms on it, from my mother and grandmother, which I wear all the time. I also have a beautiful vintage handbag that was a gift from my grandfather. It's an oversize clasp in a dark green leather, and I treasure it.
WHAT ARE YOUR PET HATES?I'm not a big trouser person. I can never find any that fit me properly, so I prefer leggings, which suit me better as I'm petite.
