Twenty teams from the Irish property industry participated in the annual – hotly contested – Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI)/Irish Times Tennis Tournament. The venue as always was Lansdowne Lawn Tennis Club..
The competition, now in its 26th year, goes from strength to strength each year. The typical Irish summer of occasional glorious sunshine interrupted by heavy rain failed to deter players and supporters from turning out in force to enjoy the evening.
The final at times looked like a rerun of last year, when at the semifinal stage Independent Valuations got the better of IPAV, and last year's winners Savills fought off a brave challenge from the Law Society.
Independent Valuations – seeking revenge for last year’s narrow defeat – was chasing success, but Savills, with its mixture of youth and experience, emerged victorious for the third year in succession.
As always competitors and spectators relished the opportunity to catch up with colleagues from all sectors over a few drinks and a hearty barbecue.
