Mullingar housing site expected to fetch £3.75m

Joint agents Gunne Commercial and James B McDonnell are selling by tender a 28-acre site with outline planning permission for 140 three-bedroom up to five-bedroom houses with a density of about five per acre on land adjoining St Francis' Hospital, Mullingar. However, the agents point out there is potential to increase this density subject to planning permission. The site is fully serviced and has considerable road frontage and direct access on to the Mullingar-Kilbeggan road. Tenders for the site, at Ballinderry, are expected by October 8th and the agents are quoting a guideline price of £3.75 million. Mullingar, which is 45 miles from Dublin, is becoming increasingly attractive to commuters seeking to avoid the overheated market in Dublin.
