The estate agent reckons the picturesque main house was built in the mid to late 18th century.

Inside it could probably do with an update in decor, according to the agent, but otherwise it is in good order. It is around 269sq m (3,000sq ft) and is single storey to the front rising to two storeys at the rear. It has a large main hall with several large reception rooms, a kitchen and utility room. As well as a main bathroom, one of the four bedrooms is en suite.

A separate self-contained apartment with lofted ceilings at the rear of the house overlooks the swimming pool. The swimming pool is set in a walled garden that was formerly the stable yard. Sloped grassy paddocks on either side of the house lead down to two walled gardens, one of which is converted into a fishing lake, stocked with a number of species including sturgeon.

The timber lake house has a kitchen, sittingroom and bedroom with a small balcony overlooking the lake.

The estate agent helpfully points out that "all the fish in the lake" are included in the sale and attempts to tantalise prospective buyers by adding that, after a find of priceless pre-Christian artefacts by a farmer some years ago, "who knows what else a new buyer will find in Seaview Cottage".
