THE site of Crawford's garage at George's Place, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, is expected to be redeveloped under a deal agreed with Dublin housebuilder John Maher. Crawfords have lodged a planning application to demolish the existing buildings and to decommission the petrol station on the site of three-quarters of an acre. Permission is being sought to build 58 apartments in two blocks of six and seven storeys over a basement car-park with access from Clarence Street. The new scheme will also include a new showrooms and workshop for Crawfords. Finnegan Menlon negotiated the deal for Crawfords.

In Dublin city centre, Charles O'Neill of the House of Sport, has sought planning permission to redevelop 89 to 95 Capel Street, 16 to 11 Green Street and 195 and 196 North King Street. The scheme will include 262 student residential units with retail/commercial units and a sports clinic on the ground and basement storeys of Capel Street.
