BELFAST

The Spraoi International Street Art Festival begins today and up to 100,000 people are expected to attend. Attractions include the Luminarium (left), street theatre, parades and music. Many acts are free, and headliners include The Saw Doctors, Torann and Puja. spraoi.com

KERRY

Today at 3pm is the closing date for entry to the annual Banna 10km run, which sees several hundred competitors take on a gentle route along the coast and inland. The run takes place on Sunday at 9.30am. runireland.com

DUBLIN

A programme of free Shakespeare begins in the Iveagh Gardens today with The Tempest, presented by Fortune’s Fool Productions. 7pm on weekdays, 3pm tomorrow and Sunday. It runs until August 12th.

CORK

A car-boot sale takes place at the Pavilion venue in Cork on Sunday, 2-6pm. If you fancy clearing out the attic, it costs €10 to set up a stall. pavilioncork.com

KILDARE

Castletown House is holding an antiques and vintage market on Sunday in the restored stable wing of the house. There will also be food stalls, guided tours of the house, and a free music recital. 11am-5pm, admission free, tours €4.50. castletownhouse.ie

DONEGAL

Opening today at the Heritage Centre in Ardara, a collection of 18 Donegal designers, artists and craft makers share what home means to each of them in a new exhibition. Features a broad range of disciplines, from furniture making to ceramics. donegaldesignermakers.com

CAVAN

More than 50 drawings of Irish musicians and singers are on display at Johnston Central Library Gallery on Farnham Street. The exhibition opens tomorrow and runs until August 25th. cavancoco.ie

DUBLIN

The museum in Glasnevin Cemetery is featuring re-enactments of Padraig Pearse's oration at O'Donovan Rossa's grave every day at 2.30pm. The museum also provides walking tours and is open Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm and weekends 11am-5pm. glasnevinmuseum.ie

CLARE

The Scariff Harbour Festival runs until Sunday. Events include rugby training sessions with Trevor Ringland, book readings, boat trips and street circus. Musical highlights include Jack L and Sean Keane. scariff.ie
