The Good Life, by John Brady (HarperCollins, Toronto, ISBN 000-648052-7), is another in the Matt Minogue crime-mystery series set in Dublin. The storytelling is concise and crisp, with vivid and colourful characters. Brady's ability to capture the essence of Dublin anarchy - in all its stark beauty - may not be appreciated by readers from outside Ireland. However, I feel this book, and his others, are wonderful time capsules for Ireland's changing face, especially with all the economic growth in Dublin, be it perceived as positive or negative.
