SOME places are still available on the Irish Auctioneer & Valuers Institute's advanced fine art evening course in Irish art, silver and furniture. Starting on Wednesday, February 26th, the course of nine two hour lectures, which examine Irish fine art from the mid 18th century to the present, is aimed at enthusiasts who already have a general knowledge of the field.
Held in the IAVI's offices at 38 Merrion Square, Dublin, the illustrated talks will be given by specialists such as Brian Coyle and James O'Halloran of the James Adam salesroom and Douglas Bennett of Douglas Bennett & Associates. The fee for the course is £150.
The IAVI also runs an introductory course in fine art appreciation; the next one starts on Tuesday, February 11th Due to demand, places on this course are now fully booked but the Institute will take inquiries about the autumn series.
