Dublin newbies The Cast Of Cheers have arrived with a blazing debut album Chariot that makes you wonder where the hell they've been all your life. A post-punk exclamation mark where riffs and angles anchor tight, infectious songs, Chariotwill be one of the best things you'll hear this year.

Of course, there's no such thing as a band coming out of nowhere and these Sam, Diane, Woody and Norm fans have form. Previously members of such also-ran acts as Abam, Jukebox Hymn and Lazybug, the four members found a new momentum in the shape of songs that lead singer and guitarist Conor Adams wrote in his attic.
