Shirley Bassey turns Irish

Permit us a little bit of telly news. It seems that Ruth Negga, the gifted Irish actor, is set to play Shirley Bassey in an upcoming drama for BBC2. Shirley Bassey: A Very British Divawill screen later this year.

Negga said: “I’m thrilled to be cast in the role of Shirley Bassey, and it’s an absolute honour to be playing her in such an intimate story of her life.”
