David McAlmont: "Look At Yourself" (Hut)

Bernard Butler's erstwhile musical companion returns with a soulful stomper, a worthy successor to McAlmont & Butler's Yes. There's more than a hint of bitterness in the lyrics, especially in lines like "One of these days you're gonna destroy yourself/You're in denial again", but the strident arrangements are brimming with candour and renewed confidence.
