Wednesday, October 31st: Christie’s, London. An 18th-century marble fireplace from 86 St Stephen’s Green, which had an estimate of £70,000-£100,000, was withdrawn from the sale.

Estate papers from the Headfort, Holmpatrick and Bligh estates (Cos Meath and Cavan) €4,000 (€2,000-€3,000); signed, limited edition of Essays by WB Yeats, €1,000 (€1,200-€1,500); two-volume Irish Folk-History Plays by Lady Gregory, €800 (€1,000-€1,500).

Saturday, November 10th:O’Donovan Associates, The Key House, North Quay, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, 11am. Antiques auction with more than 600 lots including furniture, gold, silver, jewellery, musical instruments and military medals. Viewing begins on Wednesday.
