Irish Internet start-up company, XIAM, has received a £2 million venture capital investment to expand its business which provides advanced information routing technology for mobile communications. The investment will be equally divided between Delta Venture Capital of Ireland, and Vertex Venture Capital of Singapore, and each will nominate one representative to the board of the company. XIAM's technology allows businesses to take information as it arises from a variety of sources, and route it to any location worldwide. Real-time stock market quotations, e-mails, text messages and database updates can be routed to mobile phones or other portable devices.

The system has already been successfully piloted with a number of major companies, including finance houses, banks, and media organisations, and XIAM says major licensing contracts are "already in prospect".
