Tyco International has made no decisions on the geographical spread of the 6,000 job cuts at its electronic division worldwide, an IDA Ireland spokesman said yesterday. The company employs 110 people at its electronics plant in Blanchardstown in Dublin, which manufactures circuit boards. It was formerly known as AMP Packaging Systems. "The cutbacks will only impact on the electronics business and no locational decisions have been made at this point on cutbacks," the spokesman said.

Tyco employs a further 1,400 people in its various healthcare businesses in Ireland.
