Work by NCAD artists to adorn taxis in Dublin city

Winning designs inspired by local landmarks, James Joyce and eclectic mix of urban life

Five up-and-coming artists from the National College of Art and Design will be wrapped on to hundreds of Uber taxis in the city. They include Holly Hughes, from Cavan, who was inspired by local Dublin landmarks and ancient folk art.

The other artists featured are: Anna Abola, Harith Mohd Farid, Henrik Mryvold and Lorna Quinn. The winning designs draw inspiration from local landmarks and James Joyce, to Dublin’s old tram network and the city’s nightlife.

“We’re proud to operate in Dublin and what better way to pay tribute to the city’s heritage than using Uber taxis as a canvas for young artists,” said Uber senior manager Kieran Harte. “There’s a unique story behind each design and I’ve been blown away by the vision and creativity of the artists involved. I hope riders and drivers alike enjoy using these special ‘art rides’ to explore the city.”
