Tax appeal successful

Independent Newspapers' 43 per cent-owned associate company in Australia, APN News & Media, has been successful in an appeal against a A$25.6 million (£11.3 million) claim by the Australian Taxation Office relating to alleged underpayment by APN subsidiaries between 1991 and 1994.
