Suparule, the Limerick-based designer and distributor of specialist electrical equipment, has warned that losses of approximately £400,000 (€507,8950) before tax for the year to March 31st, 1999, are expected as a result of "flat sales" of its products in comparison to the previous year.
The company said sales of its Flexiclamp Mark 1 had been hit by several shortcomings in its original design. The problems had now been resolved, the company said, and a new version of the product was being developed. The Flexiclamp is a handheld instrument which measures the current passing through multi-core cables. The company said sales of its cable height meter products had exceeded expectations.
