Those who fancy their chances at playing the stock markets can find their feet in the Investment Club Network. The clubs, which operate throughout Britain are beginning to be set up around the Republic.
They are made up of groups of individuals who are taught to confidently trade on stock markets. Members learn how to work together in setting up and running their own local club and in turn become part of a nationwide network which meets on a monthly basis to exchange ideas, resources and capital.
Investments are rarely more than £50 (€63) per person per month and decisions are made in a social atmosphere. An elected treasurer buys the shares to build the club's portfolio. Details of how the clubs operate in Britain are available at www.ticn.com
