Telecommunications company Stentor said yesterday it was opening an international customer care centre and sales office in the Shannon industrial estate. It will employ 20 people initially and will be open 24 hours per day.

Stentor claimed the centre could eventually employ 200 people. The company's shares are currently suspended on the London Alternative Investments Market (AIM) as the firm is negotiating on a possible takeover.
