Spectel, an Irish-owned teleconferencing equipment company, is to expand its operations here. Over the next year the company will invest £1.5 million in its new support centre at Stillorgan Industrial Park and recruit 25 additional staff, bringing its workforce to 80.

Spectel, which designs and manufactures digital teleconferencing systems, has customers in Britain, Europe, Asia and the US. The latest investment will support its US expansion where it plans to open two offices in the first quarter of next year. Spectel has experienced rapid growth following a management buyout in 1996 from overseas owners.
