Recovery in the aerospace sector was slow after the recession it experienced in recent years, the chairman of the Federation of Aerospace Enterprises (FAE) in Ireland said yesterday. Speaking at the FAE's a.g.m., Mr Donnacha Hurley said the sector would remain very competitive in an over-supplied "global, fragmented market place". He added that there was a shortage of mechanics, machinists and certified technicians in the industry, which employs about 4,600 people, and has an annual output worth £320 million.
