Enniskillen wins 800 new jobs from French contact centre company

Teleperformance, the French-owned contact centre group, plans to create an additional 800 jobs in the North in a major investment project that will be located in Fermanagh.

The group already employs nearly 2,000 people at its existing customer contact centres in Bangor and Newry, in Co Down.

Teleperformance intends to develop its third centre in Enniskillen and to have 800 jobs in place by 2018.

Alistair Niederer, chief executive for Teleperformance UK, Ireland and RSA said the company was happy to be growing its presence in the North.

Arlene Foster’s constituency

The North’s Finance Minister, Arlene Foster, whose constituency is Fermanagh and South Tyrone, is particularly pleased that the new jobs will be located in her home county.

The minister said: “This major investment is great news for Northern Ireland and I am delighted to have played a part in the journey that has brought Teleperformance to Fermanagh.

“I have taken an active interest in the company’s involvement in Northern Ireland and have been privileged to engage with them over the last number of years. Securing this further investment for Fermanagh marks another tremendous milestone which I am proud to be a part of.”

The French group’s latest investment project is being backed by Invest NI which has offered £2.5 million (€3.4m) of support towards the project.

The North’s Department of Employment and Learning has also offered £249,500 of support for pre-employment training for 100 people.
