THE newspaper publishing group Trinity International Holdings has announced record pre tax profits of £23.8 million sterling, for the six months to the end of June.
This is almost 80 per cent up on the £13.3 million of a year ago.
Group turnover almost doubled from £82.9 million to £165.3 million.
The increase follows the acquisition of five UK regional newspaper businesses including the Belfast Telegraph Group, which was bought from Thomson Regional Newspapers in January.
Trinity chief executive Mr Philip Graf said the Belfast centre, which publishes the Belfast Telegraph, the Sunday Life, and Ireland Saturday Night, was performing well.
