ENGINEERING, architecture and global project management firm PM Group has signed three contracts worth €250 million in the pharmaceutical sector in Asia. The projects are in Singapore, China and India and two are set to commence later this year.

The group will design, construct and project manage a new secondary pharmaceutical technology centre at Singapore’s Nanyang Polytechnic. A large-scale facility for Intas Biopharmaceuticals will also be developed by the group in Ahmedabad, India.

Meanwhile, construction for a new research and development campus for an undisclosed company will begin in China next year.

The contract to co-manage, design and construct the centre was also awarded to M+W Zander.

PM Group’s head office is in Ireland. It employs 1,800 people and is developing projects in 30 countries. PM Group’s Allan Schouten said two of the developments were in design phase.

Alan Dixon, Enterprise Ireland’s director for Asia Pacific, said there were a growing number of Irish firms in the region.

“More Irish companies are setting up in Singapore, using it as a springboard for the Asia Pacific region,” he said.
