Honeywell, formerly Allied Signal Ireland Ltd, Waterford, yesterday announced a breakthrough in manufacturing turbine wheels for turbochargers.

Honeywell employs some 1,000 people in the Republic where it has automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
