Cambridge Minerals is to accelerate its exploration programme for diamonds and sapphires in Co Donegal.

Manfred Marx, an Australian diamond exploration consultancy, has been commissioned to prepare an independent report interpreting the results from the company's operation in Donegal so far.

The report is expected towards the end of October and will recommend future work on Cambridge's licence areas.

The company yesterday announced its interim results for the six months ended June 30 which showed pre-tax losses of £45,654, down from £110,585 for the same period last year.
