LifeLine product to benefit health groups

Coyle Hamilton, in association with Hibernian Life, has introduced a serious illness cover product, LifeLine. This will directly benefit nine Irish charities which provide support and assistance to the seriously ill.

Beneficiaries include the Arthritis Foundation of Ireland, the Irish Cancer Society and the Irish Heart Foundation. They will collectively receive an amount equal to 25 per cent of the first year's premium on every policy, at no cost to the policyholder. They will also receive a donation equal to 5 per cent of the amount of any claim, again at no cost to the policy-holder.

The product provides a tax-free lump sum to the individual insured in the event that they suffer from one of more than 30 illnesses and conditions. The traditional list of illnesses has been expanded to include such conditions as CJD and HIV/Aids due to physical assault. The plan also provides free children's serious illness cover.
