THE British engineering group L Gardner has stated that it has no intention of bidding for the ailing Belfast engineering company Mackie International. The British Telegraph had quoted Gardner's nonexecutive chairman Mr Mike McDonald. as interested in buying Mackie, but Gardner chief executive, Mr Roger Newton said that Mr McDonald's reported interest in Mackie does not involve the British group.
