Kindle Banking Systems, the Dublin based banking software supplier, has been selected by Ethiopia's Awash International Bank to install an integrated multi branch retail banking system.
The signing represents a second customer in Ethiopia for Kindle. The system it will install would enable Awash to provide on line customer transactions and information from any branch, regardless of where the customer's local branch is located.
A modern telecommunications infrastructure has been introduced within Ethiopia, which is rapidly improving its communications.
Kindle is one of the leading suppliers of banking software in Africa, with a customer base of 55 banks in 20 countries.
The Dublin based financial software company is part of Misys plc, one of the world's largest software production companies, with annual sales of over £300 million.
