Education: Christian Brothers, Monkstown, Dublin; ME, mechanical and electronic engineering, UCD; MSc Clarkson University, New York.
Career: Started work with ASEA in Sweden, responsible for setting up General Electric semiconductor plant in Dundalk; managing director of Digital's European operation; moved within Digital to the US in 1983; joined Intel in 1994 as vice-president, technology and manufacturing, and general manager for Ireland. Considered a player within the company, he was responsible for the recent acquisition of Digital semiconductors.
