ESB International and two EU partners have won an £850,000 contract to review electricity systems in several former Soviet Republics. ESB International, which is an independent subsidiary of the ESB, will be working with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan, Tukmentistan, and Uzbekistan.
Under the contract, ESB International will review the whole operations process of electricity system in the different countries, propose alternative organisations to match the new role of the control centres and make recommendations on how to increase efficiencies.
