Mr Richard Cooke is the new managing director of Esat Net, the Internet division of Esat Telecom. Mr Cooke joined Esat Net, formerly EU net Ireland, in 1997 as sales manager. Previously, he held the position of Datacomms sales manager with LAKE Communications, based in Tallaght.
Mr Anton Davies has been appointed director of pensions for Norwich Union, Life and Pensions. Prior to the appointment he worked with Norwich Life in South Africa.
Irish International Sales has chosen Mr Derek O'Byrne-White to head up its new small to medium enterprise IT division. Mr O'Byrne-White was former general manager and sales director of Megatech Software Ireland.
Irish International Sales specialises in accounting and payroll software and the new division has been set up to assist small businesses in facing the challenges of the euro and the Y2K problem.
Mr Stephen Tynan has become head of intermediaries at stockbroker and corporate financier, Dolmen Butler Briscoe. Mr Tynan will be targeting intermediary business throughout the Republic on behalf of the company.
DDFH&B, the advertising company which is part of the J Walter Thompson Worldwide group, has appointed Mr Colm McNamara to its client services team as an account executive. Mr Gavin O'Sullivan has been appointed as a copywriter.
The General Mortgage Corporation has appointed Mr Peter Gilbourne as general manager. Mr Gilbourne has been with the company for more than two years and previously worked with Irish Nationwide Building Society.
