Doherty in AIB move

Mr Colm Doherty has been appointed managing director of AIB Capital Markets. Mr Doherty will also join the AIB Group Executive team. He was appointed head of AIB International Financial Services in 1989 and he previously worked for the First National Bank of Chicago.

Mr Doherty replaces Mr Michael Buckley, who is to be the head of AIB's new Polish division.

Tennents Ireland has appointed Mr Neil Gannon promotions manager. Mr Gannon joins the company from Vintage Foods where he was brand manager for Clara's Kitchen, a range of gluten and wheat-free products.

Mr Kevin Sweeney has been appointed director and general manager of Agilent Technologies Ireland, the company which consists of Hewlett-Packard's former measurement and components business. He joined Hewlett-Packard in 1978.

Mr Brendan Buckley has been appointed market director of Fado Pubs, the US-based chain of Irish pubs. Prior to joining Fado, Mr Buckley was vice-president of US operations for the Irish Pub Company, the pub design firm.

Salomon Smith Barney, the financial services company, has announced the appointment of Mr David White as managing director, UK and Ireland Financial Institutions Group (FIG). Mr White previously worked for JP Morgan. Mr Patrick Cassidy has been appointed general manger of ESB Retail, the Electricity Supply Board's sales chain. He was previously general manager at Texas Homebase, the DIY chain.

Ms Halina Ashdown Sheils has been appointed managing director of Advanced Cosmetic Surgery. Last October, she was part of the management buyout of Transfrom which then became Advanced Cosmetic Surgery.

Stratathree, the software development company, has appointed Mr Brian Gilsenan international commercial director. Mr Gilsenan joins the company from Oniva where he was sales director.

Mr Nigel Carter has been appointed regional sales manager, Ireland, by JBA Ireland, the business software company. He was previously responsible for corporate accounts in JBA across Europe.
