The Margin has always regarded politics as a hazardous trade and the point was driven home again yesterday at the launch of the Avonmore Waterford/Tesco Ireland beef partnership deal on a farm in Stradbally, Co Laois. Agriculture Minister, Joe Walsh, was drafted in to do the honours. As he and senior executives posed for photographers, they were confronted by a temperamental Charolais bull. In the fraught moments that followed, the animal considered a range of available targets before a quick thinking Avonmore Waterford employee saved the day. How? By directing the bull towards some cattle.
