BT plans to create 85 jobs in Northern Ireland, 60 of them under the New Deal initiative which was set up last year and is run by the Training & Employment Agency. It offers 18- to 24-year-olds, who have been unemployed for at least six months, work and training opportunities.

The BT jobs will initially be with the firms technical divisions, and will be located throughout Northern Ireland.
