A NEW study on the economic regeneration of north and west Belfast has criticised the lack of an overall strategy for the development of the area and has said that a single agency was needed to co«MDBO»-«MDNM»ordinate the efforts of the job promotion agencies like the IDB, the small business agency, LEDU, Making Belfast Work, and the Training and Employment Agency.

The authors of the report, Mr Mike Morrissey and Mr Frank Gaffikin of the Urban Institute, say that such agencies, along with the Department of the Environment and Belfast City Council, needed to increase their level of co-operation.
