The BBC may launch a British pay television service to screen rapid repeats of shows aired on its two licence funded channels, according to trade magazine Broadcast.
Details of the channel, with a working title of Catch Up TV, were contained in an internal BBC document, the report said.
The new channel would give viewers a second chance to see programmes shown on BBC 1 and BBC2 in the previous three weeks. The plan is for a BBC branded subscription channel that would not carry advertising, the report added.
