THE WEATHER continues to play havoc with racing’s schedule and Killarney’s rescheduled meeting this evening is dependent on an 8am inspection.

Already, though, the fixtures scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at Roscommon have been cancelled after an inspection yesterday found the track to be waterlogged.

On top of that, parts of the course at Kilbeggan ahead of Friday’s meeting are currently unfit for racing and the Co Westmeath track will have an inspection at 8am tomorrow morning.

The chase track at Killarney has already been ruled out for today’s scheduled action, leaving a six-race card which hosts the featured €20,500 novice hurdle.

A two-and-three-quarter mile trip will make this a serious test of stamina for novices and it could be worth opposing Time Electric who failed to justify favouritism at Killarney last month, after which he was found to be blowing hard.

That’s hardly encouraging ahead of a task like this and it could be worth sticking with the topweight Berties Dream who is significantly making a quick reappearance after winning on similar ground at Galway on Sunday.

Time Electric’s trainer Tom Mullins may have better luck later with Pay The Ferryman while Surprise Vendor can beat Golan Go in the opener.

David Wachman is hoping to bring his Group One stars, Again and Bushranger, back to action this weekend with the latter due to run in Haydock’s Betfred Sprint Cup over six furlongs.

Last year’s Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes winner has run just twice this season, the last of which was behind Art Connoisseur in the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot.

The Wachman team in general though have had an under-par period due to a virus and the Co Tipperary trainer is hoping to make up for lost time.

“The intention is for Bushranger to go to Haydock. I will have to speak to the owners but I imagine Wayne Lordan could ride,” Wachman said yesterday.

Again also hasn’t been seen since Royal Ascot when down the field to Ghanaati in the Coronation Stakes but the Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine could make her reappearance in Saturday’s Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Stakes over a mile.

In other news, last weekend’s impressive Curragh winner Chinese White is due to return to headquarters in less than two weeks for the Group Two Blandford Stakes.

Dermot Weld’s filly could also be targeted at Longchamp’s Prix de l’Opera on Arc day next month.

Clonmel will hold an 8.30am inspection tomorrow ahead of their scheduled fixture tomorrow.

The ground was heavy but raceable yesterday. However, an adverse weather forecast has resulted in an inspection being called.
