Wasps sign Henderson

WASPS have completed the signing of 24 year old Irish centre Rob Henderson from London Irish.

Irish have agreed to release Henderson, who has been capped twice, from his contract and he joins the North London club on a four year deal.

"London Irish was like a second home to me but I was becoming stale," said Henderson.

"This is an exciting opportunity and is sure to help me gain a regular place in the Ireland team."

Wasps rugby director Nigel Melville said: "Rob is exactly the type of strong, attacking player we need now Va'aiga Tuigamala has returned to rugby league and Damian Hopley is out for the season due to injury."

Henderson will make his Wasps debut at West Hartlepool on Saturday and could face the North East club again two weeks later.
