RACING: Tomahawk is on course to continue his Guineas preparation at Longchamp on Sunday.

Aidan O'Brien is set to run the Seattle Slew colt in the Group Three Prix de Fontainebleau in what will be the first overseas raid from Ballydoyle this season.

"We have Catcher In The Rye in the race as well but Tomahawk is our most likely runner," O'Brien said yesterday.

Landseer finished third in the mile contest last year before winning out in the French 2,000 Guineas.

O'Brien has already mentioned a similar plan is possible for Tomahawk but said: "Sunday's race is two weeks before the English Guineas so we will see how he runs before deciding."

It may be the first trip of the season for O'Brien to France but he could make a quick follow-up on Sunday week as Black Sam Bellamy remains on course to run in the Group One Prix Ganay.

Hurricane Alan will bid to give his trainer Richard Hannon a fourth win in the Sagitta 2,000 Guineas next month after producing a turn-up in one of the race's most important trials, the Macau Jockey Club Craven Stakes, at Newmarket yesterday.

The 9 to 1 chance looked in trouble two furlongs out as Splendid Era was challenged by Lundy's Lane for the lead. But switched to the inside by Jimmy Fortune, Hurricane Alan made relentless progress to lead inside the final furlong and pull clear from Lundy's Lane by a length and a half.

Hannon immediately confirmed that Hurricane Alan would bid to follow in the footsteps of Tirol, who won this prize and the Guineas in 1990 for the stable.
