Tipperary give Carr a recall

Declan Carr is set for a return to inter-county hurling with Tipperary after a six-year absence

Declan Carr is set for a return to inter-county hurling with Tipperary after a six-year absence. Carr was part of the Babs Keating team that won the 1989 All-Ireland, Tipperary's first for 18 years, while he captained the 1991 All-Ireland winning team. The following year he emigrated to the US. The Holycross clubman is back in Ireland again and has been invited by former team-mate Nicky English, Tipperary's new manager, to join the panel he is bringing together in preparation for next year. Tipperary play Dublin in the Oireachtas tournament on Saturday in Thurles. Footballing star Declan Browne is also included in the Tipperary squad.
