Strange things keep happening at the Phoenix Open, like 1989 British Open champion Mark Calcavecchia shooting one of the best rounds in PGA Tour history and Tiger Woods failing to reach par.

The 40-year-old Calcavecchia carded the 16th round of 60 or better in PGA Tour history yesterday, an 11-under-par 60 that left him five strokes clear.

Andrew Magee was the talk of the event on Thursday, when his drive at the 332-yard 17th hole bounced off Tom Byrum's putter and into the hole for the first par-four double-eagle in tour history.

The amazing goings-on continued in the second round as Calcavecchia rolled in 11 birdies during a bogey-free day and Woods had his tour record of consecutive rounds at par or better snapped at 53 while falling 13 shots off the lead.
