Jim Roddy is to stand down as Derry City chief executive later this month for "personal reasons".  He stressed there was no falling out with the club he has given 14 years to.

"I just think that the time is right for me personally and for the club as well," said Roddy who will also relinquish his director's role.

"There are a lot of good people working around the club and I believe it has a vibrant future . . . we had some great days, some difficult days and some very worrying days."

Derry chairman Hugh McDaid announced his departure a fortnight ago and the pair will officially step down at the club's AGM on November 26th.
