Soccer News: Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman believes Champions League success could persuade Thierry Henry to sign a new contract with the club.
Henry's contract runs out at the end of next season, with Barcelona linked with a move for the 28-year-old France striker.
Although Arsenal have struggled in the Premiership this season, Henry has skippered a young side to impressive performances against Juventus and Real Madrid in Europe.
With the club moving to a new stadium at Ashburton Grove next season, Edelman feels winning in Europe could be a factor in persuading Henry to commit.
"I think that would help," he said. "We all want Thierry to stay at Arsenal Football Club. We've made him a very good offer, we'd love him to stay and we hope he'll make that decision before the end of the season.
"I think it's over 50 per cent probability he will stay with us because we've got a new stadium to go to and we've got a great group of youngsters who show we're a team for the future.
"I think Arsene (Wenger) has developed another great team and you're seeing it develop in front of your eyes. When you watch that and play with that it's very exciting. I think he will stay."
Defoe remains committed to Spurs
Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe remains committed to the club despite admitting that a lack of first-team action has put his World Cup chances at risk.
The 23-year-old has spent large parts of the season on the bench, with Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez claiming Spurs were "desperate" to sell the England striker.
Spurs boss Martin Jol rejected Benitez's claims, with the striker insisting he has no intention of leaving.
"I'm happy here, there's a great bunch of lads, the fans have been tremendous all year," Defoe said. "I think we've achieved something special this season so I can't see why I would think about going somewhere else."
Defoe has scored eight goals this season and is expected to be selected for Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad to play in Germany this summer, although the former West Ham striker admits being in and out of the team means his place could be under threat.
He added on Sky Sports News: "People said to me 'you're not playing, are you worried?'. Of course you're going to be worried because there are other great strikers in the country, English strikers who are playing and scoring goals.
"I just want to be the same, I want to play and score goals. I believe if I play I will score goals, so we'll see what happens."
Fowler still in the dark
Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler admits he is still in the dark over whether he will be offered a new deal at Anfield.
Fowler rejoined the club on a six-month contract in January and is determined to prove to manager Rafael Benitez he is worth an extension.
The 30-year-old is now Liverpool's fifth highest goalscorer after finding the next in Saturday's 2-0 win at West Brom.
Fowler told the Liverpool Echo: "It's a bit of a weird situation really because when most players have six weeks left of a season or contract they want their future sorted out.
"I'm different because I really don't mind waiting until the end of the season. I just want to stay here. I just hope I get a positive answer when it comes.
"I've had no indication what the decision will be yet. I've known from the start this is just a short-term deal and the decision won't be taken lightly by the manager.
"He's obviously not made up his mind yet, or if he has he hasn't told me about it. All I can do is sit and wait. If he comes to me and says there is a new contract there, no-one will be happier than me."
