RANGERS midfielder Steven Davis is a major doubt for the Champions League clash against Bursaspor after suffering a hamstring injury against Aberdeen.
The Northern Ireland midfielder went off with 15 minutes left of the clash as Rangers came from two goals down to win 3-2.
Rangers manager Walter Smith admitted the initial diagnosis was not good for Davis ahead of the Turkish side’s visit to Ibrox.
Smith said: “He’s got a slight hamstring injury and we’ll just have to wait.”
Aberdeen raced into a two-goal lead thanks to first half strikes from Scott Vernon and Chris Maguire, who was sent off in the closing stages for a second booking.
Kenny Miller, however, pulled a goal back from the spot after Vladimir Weiss had been brought down by Jerel Ifil to keep his side in the match after 34 minutes.
The Scotland striker netted his 10th goal of the season after 52 minutes when he was on hand to turn home Steven Davis’s cut-back and the comeback was complete when Steven Naismith beat the offside trap to unselfishly set up Nikica Jelavic for an easy finish.
Celtic had a 2-1 home win over Hibernian on Saturday that should have been more comfortable.
Scott Brown gave the home side a fifth-minute lead with a powerful volley which Glenn Loovens added to just after the break when he headed in a Shaun Maloney corner.
Derek Riordan pulled a goal back with a delightful chip to set up a nervy end to the game but Neil Lennon’s men held on.
