Scotsman Ian Kerr won the Irish qualifier for the Glenmuir Club Professional Championship at Co Louth last week, carding a three-under-par 70 to win by one from Hughie O'Neill, with Leonard Owens third. Kerr, who runs the Carlow driving range, was out in level par 37, with birdies at the fourth and eighth being cancelled out with bogeys at the first and third, but came home in three under 33.

Kerr, who has been a professional for 11 years, will now play in the Glenmuir 72-hole championship at King's Lynn in Norfolk from June 8th to 11th where he will be joined by Hughie O'Neill, Leonard Owens, Paddy McGuirk and Damien McGrane.
