Munster's Heineken Cup quarter-final meeting with the Llanelli Scarlets will be played at Stradey Park, the Welsh outfit confirmed earlier today.
With the visit of the defending champions, not to mention their legions of fans, always a massive draw, Llanelli had considered moving the match away from their traditional home which has a capacity of just under 11,000.
The Ospreys' Liberty Stadium in Swansea was mooted as a possible alternative, given it can hold just over 20,000, but Scarlets directors have opted against switching the tie.
"We've made an early decision on the venue to end speculation from both media and spectators that we were moving the game away from Stradey Park," explained chief executive Stuart Gallacher.
He added: "Our players and supporters deserve the best possible opportunity of progressing further in the knockout stages and we believe playing at Stradey Park gives us that chance."
Munster missed the opportunity of staging a home quarter-final when suffering their first defeat in the competition at the hands of Leicester, a result that shattered their proud unbeaten record at Thomond Park.
Leinster will also take to the road in the knockout stages with a trip to London to face Wasps. The English side, who topped their pool after a win in Castres over the weekend, have yet to indicate whether they will stage the match at Adams Park, with a capacity of just over 8,000, or move to a larger venue to accommodate a larger crowd.
