FIFA confirmed yesterday that the Asian World Cup qualifiers between Saudi Arabia and Thailand in Riyadh and Bahrain against Iran in Manama have been delayed 48 hours from Friday to Sunday.
The postponements follow Saturday's abandoned match between Thailand and Bahrain which was halted after a fire broke out in the stadium.
That match was replayed yesterday and ended in a 1-1 draw. FIFA ruled that Friday's games had to be put back to allow the teams to travel for the next games.
Sunday's matches are the last in the group and will determine which team qualifies automatically for the finals in South Korea and Japan next year.
