But O'Sullivan, having twice denied Keith Bruen, was finally beaten by the midfielder on 54 minutes. The Tipperary side came close to equalising a minute later but with quarter of an hour to go John Donlon rounded O'Sullivan before firing home.

Cork City clinched the FAI Youth Cup on Saturday when they beat Tipperary side Peakevilla 3-1 at Cooke Park, Tipperary. Damien Delaney scored the opener for Cork on 18 minutes with a 25-yard strike but Peakevilla levelled seven minutes later through Pat O'Connor.

City pulled ahead again before half-time when Alan Bennett's shot also benefited from a deflection. And they sealed the game in the 69th minute with Alan Molloy's acutely angled strike.

Moyle Park secured their first Metropolitan Cup win on Saturday, beating Bluebell United 2-1 at Dalymount Park. Paul Pollard and David Burns scored for the winners while Bluebell's Damien Gill netted a consolation goal.
